Online yoga retail before most of Britain shopped online. The supply side taught him the industry: what teachers actually used, and what they could afford.

↻Standards were slipping, and both founders could see it from their own training room. The American body said no — so they built Britain's own, not-for-profit.
↻The rebrand that put “professional” into a British yoga body's name for the first time. The industry has borrowed the word ever since.
↻Born as The Yoga Shop closed — the products side reborn as an ethical yoga-equipment brand that still trades today.
↻The name catches up with what was built underneath — the register, the Live CV, insurance, accreditation with teeth. The standard never changed.

Three plays that changed how the industry works. Each began as his conversation and ended as the pattern others follow.
Full transparency: one open Live CV per teacher and a public accreditation record anyone can verify, from training to insurance. Regulation refused to exist, so the register built the sunlight instead.

From 2006, the register graded teaching, training and specialist hours accumulated after qualifying. Experience became the currency — and the industry has been catching up since.
