Terms Of Use

Effective Date: December 3, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using www.theyogapros.com and joining Yoga Pros Organisation Ltd (registered in Scotland, Company No. SC502923), as a member, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use (the "Agreement").

This Binding Agreement is between you ("Member") and Yoga Pros (referred to as "Yoga Pros", "we", "us" or "our"). By applying for or renewing your membership, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and up-to-date. If you provide any false information, we reserve the right to cancel your account without refund.

You agree to abide by any posted membership guidelines or policies, which we may update from time to time. If you do not agree to any term or to future modifications, your sole remedy is to stop using the website and cancel your membership.

2. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to change, modify, or update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. We encourage you to review the Agreement regularly to stay informed. Your continued use of the Service or maintenance of membership after changes are posted will constitute acceptance of the modified Terms.

This Agreement remains in force until either you or we terminate it in accordance with the provisions below.

3. Membership Fees and Payments

  • Membership fees are as stated on our website at the time of purchase and are paid upfront. Use of the Service (including member benefits) is activated once you meet all membership requirements. Membership products and fees are subject to annual review, and we reserve the right to amend them at any time. We will notify you of any fee changes via email at least 28 days before their effective date.
  • Renewal payments are automatically deducted annually from the payment method on file unless you cancel in advance. You must ensure your payment details are up to date to avoid interruptions in your membership. We will send reminder emails prior to renewal dates.
  • If a renewal payment is processed and you request a refund within 14 days, we will refund your payment minus a £25 administration fee (to cover bank charges and processing costs). If you change the payment card after renewal has been taken, a refund and recharge will incur a £25 administration fee.
  • If you apply and pay for a new membership while already a member, we will refund your payment minus a £25 administration fee. This covers additional processing time and costs.

3.1 Annual Contract Commitment

If you choose monthly payments, you commit to a 12-month contract for the full annual membership fee. The monthly payment plan is for convenience only; it does not change the contract's length or value.

You acknowledge that membership, accreditation, and associated privileges, including, but not limited to, YogaPros-branded accreditation, certification, professional listings, and related insurance coverage, are explicitly contingent upon your full and timely payment. Any breach, missed instalment, or default of agreed financial terms automatically results in the immediate suspension and potential revocation of all granted benefits, accreditation statuses, listings, and associated insurance cover provided through YogaPros.

YogaPros explicitly retains secured creditor and primary beneficiary status. You explicitly agree that in the event of payment default or breach of this agreement, YogaPros reserves the absolute and irrevocable right to revoke your accreditation and immediately inform relevant third parties, including insurers, training venues, and existing students, of your suspended status until full payment of outstanding amounts is made.

YogaPros further explicitly reserves the right to recover all outstanding balances, plus accrued administrative, legal, and collection costs, through direct enforcement, including expedited small claims court proceedings. You acknowledge that such enforcement may have consequential impacts on your professional standing, insurance coverage validity, trainees’ certifications, and graduate accreditations. Any subsequent damages or claims arising due to such revocation remain your sole responsibility.

Missed or Failed Payments: All monthly payments must be made on time. If three consecutive payments or three payments within the contract period are missed or fail to process, your instalment plan will be considered in default.

Outstanding Balance on Default: If your instalment plan defaults, the full remaining balance of the annual membership fee becomes immediately payable. A final invoice for the outstanding amount will be issued, and access to membership benefits may be suspended until payment is received.

Cancellation Policy: Cancelling your membership before the end of the 12-month term does not relieve you of your contractual obligation to pay the full annual fee. Monthly instalments are an alternative payment schedule, not a month-to-month membership.

4. Professional Yoga Teachers and Brand Members

4.1 Application Standards

To qualify for membership, your yoga teacher training must meet our standards. We will verify your certificate and may contact your Trainer. You must provide a valid certificate for a 200-hour training course (with at least 180 contact hours (contact meaning in-person, or live Zoom sessions, etc.); pre-recorded courses are not accepted.

If a valid certificate is not provided or you do not qualify, your application will be cancelled and an administration fee of £75/€75/$75 (depending on the currency the payment was made with) will be deducted from any refund.

4.2 Profile Completion

During the application process you will create an account on our website. You must then complete the remaining onboarding process and upload your training certificate within 30 days from the date of application and payment. Your membership will only be activated once you have completed this.

Your profile page is public, so please enter your city and country for improved searchability. It is your responsibility to keep your profile up to date.

  • You authorise us to display your name, membership level, and any profile content you submit on our website. You are solely responsible for all content you provide, and you must have all necessary rights (e.g. full legal copyright permission to use any content shared) before posting content.
  • Members who join from 15th October 2025 onwards will have their training certificates stored on their membership profile for the duration of their membership. We do not retain copies of your training certificate (s) if you downgrade your membership to a free membership or request that your details be removed from our database.
  • Members who joined before 15th October 2025, your certificates were not kept on file after the verification process.
  • Your profile appears on our site, and (if purchased) your insurance documents will be issued, typically within two working days after activation.

4.3 Renewal of Membership

To maintain your membership with Yoga Pros and continue to use the accreditation badges, you must renew your membership annually.

All Yoga Teacher memberships automatically renew annually (except for Trainee Members). If you do not wish for your membership to be on auto-renewal, please contact us to request that the subscription be cancelled.

Should your credit or debit card expire or change, please update the card details in our system to prevent any interruptions to your membership.

Yoga Pros will notify all members via email the month before their renewal date to remind them of the upcoming renewal charge.

Upon renewal, we extend your membership for an additional year from the original expiration date, provided you meet the renewal criteria outlined below. We require notification 14 days before your renewal date if you wish to downgrade to a free membership (otherwise, the renewal will process automatically). You can request a refund within 14 days of renewal (less a £25 administration fee).

Renewal Criteria: To renew, you must have (and maintain) a complete profile on our website, and you must continue to display your Yoga Pros membership badge on your website and social media (if applicable).

If your renewal payment is not made within seven days after the renewal date, we reserve the right to downgrade your profile to a free membership (please refer to Section 4.5, "Yoga Pros' Right to Downgrade, Remove, or Suspend").

If you wish to renew your membership after the downgrade has been processed, the new term will start on the date of payment. You may also need to reapply as a new member and create a new profile.

4.4 Downgrade and Refund Policy

New Memberships: After you pay for a new membership, a 14-day "cooling-off" period applies, during which you may cancel for any reason. If you cancel within this period, we will refund your payment minus the application fee. After 14 days, we have a strict no-refund policy. Cancellations made after the cooling-off period will result in the termination of membership without a refund.

Renewals: If you choose not to renew, notify us at least 14 days before your renewal date (complete the downgrade form on the website). After your renewal payment is processed, a 14-day cooling-off period applies. If you downgrade within that period, we will refund your renewal payment minus a £25 administration fee (for our time and bank charges). After those 14 days, no refunds are given under any circumstances.

Please note that if you request a refund, your membership will be downgraded to a free membership, and any related insurance policies (e.g., therapy insurance) will also be invalidated. You will be required to obtain alternative coverage.

After Downgrade: Upon any downgrade, we will amend your profile to a free member on our website and send you a confirmation email. You must then remove the Yoga Pros Stamp and any references to Yoga Pros from your website, social media, and marketing materials.

If you falsified any part of your application, we reserve the right to downgrade your membership without refund, which will invalidate any associated insurance. If your Trainer revokes your teacher training certificate, your membership will also be downgraded without a refund.

Free Membership Removal: If you would like to have your free membership removed from our website, please complete this form

4.5 Yoga Pro’s Right to Downgrade, Remove or Suspend a Professional Teacher’s Membership

As a private members’ organisation, Yoga Pros reserves the unconditional right to suspend, withdraw, terminate, downgrade or restrict access to all or any part of the Service for any reason and without notice. In such cases, no refund will be issued. Possible actions that could lead to suspension or termination include, but are not limited to:

  • If it is determined that your training was delivered via pre-recorded content, conducted in a manner that does not meet Yoga Pros’ professional standards, or otherwise fails to comply with our accreditation requirements, your membership (and any associated insurance) will be deemed invalid and may be suspended or terminated without refund. These measures are in place to uphold the integrity, quality, and credibility of our membership standards.
  • Non-compliance with Yoga Pros standards (e.g., advertising a non-accredited course as accredited).
  • Failure to meet renewal criteria (section 4.3).
  • Ongoing or serious complaints from students about your classes or courses.
  • Defamatory or slanderous remarks about Yoga Pros in public.
  • Aggressive or abusive behaviour toward Yoga Pros staff.
  • Failure to pay membership fees.
  • Breach of confidentiality or our intellectual property rights.

If we suspend or terminate your membership, we will notify you by email (if feasible) and remove your profile from the website. You agree not to attempt to use the Service after termination and to remove your Yoga Pros stamp and any mentions of Yoga Pros from your website.

4.6 Pausing Your Membership

Members may request to "pause their membership" for reasons like pregnancy, illness, or personal circumstances.

A small monthly fee is charged to cover the server costs to keep all your information on our website. Your profile will no longer appear in search results, and you will get limited access to our services. A membership can be paused for an unlimited time.

You can request to reinstate your full membership by contacting the office at any time, and you will be required to pay the current membership fees to do so. Once the payment is received and verified, your profile will be switched back to a full membership.

There will be no refund of the most recent monthly fee paid at the time of reinstatement.

Note: EYT or SYT members with any teacher training course in progress or scheduled to run at a later date are not eligible to pause their teacher membership.

There is no option to pause a teacher training course accreditation.

4.7 Changes to Member Details

You are responsible for keeping your contact information up to date. You can update your details directly on your profile.

Name Change: If you change your name, please provide documentation so we can update your account, issue new documents, and (if applicable) reissue your insurance in your new name (administration fee applies).

Address Change: If you move home, please complete the change of address form

Email Address Change: If you would like to update your primary email (to receive communications from us), please complete the change of email address form

You agree to maintain a valid telephone number and address, especially if you have insurance, so we can reach you if needed. Failure to provide contact information could invalidate your membership and insurance policy.

4.8 Level Upgrades and Additional Qualifications

At our discretion, you may upgrade your membership level during the year if you meet the new level’s criteria. We will verify that you meet the standards for the higher level; if not, you remain at your current level.

Specialties and Development Training: Once you complete a specialty or development training, log into your profile, go to “edit your live CV” and add a new qualification. Our team will verify this.

If you have completed a Yoga Pros accredited course, your qualification will be listed as accredited. If you have completed a non Yoga Pros accredited course, your qualification will be verified.

Adding a Specialty: If you have completed one of the designated specialty teaching areas, and you completed a Yoga Pros accredited course, you will unlock the specialty and will be listed in searches for this qualification. If the course is not accredited, you can pay a one-time fee for the course to be reviewed.

If the course meets our standards, you will have the specialty unlocked and be added to the search feature for this teaching area.

If the course does not meet our standards, you will not be awarded a qualification. The fee is non-refundable.

Yoga Pros Accredited Courses: Your course leader is responsible for adding their syllabus and course dates to our system. We can only match you to a development training or a specialty course if they have not done this. We will not be responsible for missing course dates.

No Certificate for your Training Course: You can add qualifications, via your profile for courses with no certification.

5. Trainee Members

5.1 Free Trainee Membership

Any trainee can join us with a free membership, regardless of whether their teacher training course meets our standards.

5.2 Standards (Only for Trainees with UK and Ireland Insurance)

To qualify for membership with trainee yoga insurance with Balens Ltd, your yoga teacher training course must meet our standards. You must confirm that you are completing a 200-hour training course with at least 180 contact hours (contact hours meaning in-person, live Zoom sessions, etc.); pre-recorded courses are not accepted.

Please ensure you are familiar with our training course standards before finalising your application. Completing and paying the membership fee confirms that the course meets our standards. If you are deemed ineligible for membership (e.g. if your course does not meet our standards), we will deduct an administration fee of £15 from your refund.

If your teacher training course is found to be pre-recorded during your membership or in the event of an insurance claim, your membership and insurance will be invalid.

5.3 Membership Duration and Insurance

Trainee memberships are valid for the duration of your training course or for a maximum of 18 months.

Note the trainee insurance policy expires when you reach your graduation date.

Trainee members receive a profile with access to limited services on our website, and we do not issue Yoga Pros membership stamps to Trainees.

5.4 Graduation – Yoga Pros Accredited Courses

When you complete a Yoga Pros accredited training course, your Lead Teacher will notify us of your graduation. We will then invite you to upgrade to a Teacher membership. If you do not receive an invitation email within 5 days, email support@yogaallianceprofessionals.org.

5.5 Graduation – Yoga Pros Non-Accredited Courses

If you are completing a Yoga Pros non-registered training course, we will reach out after your stated graduation date to confirm completion. If we do not hear from you after two attempts, we will assume your training is complete, expire your insurance and invite you to upgrade to Teacher membership.

If you do not upgrade within a reasonable time, your Trainee status may expire.

5.6 Receiving Insurance Documents

We will send your insurance documents (for UK and Irish members) to the email address provided upon application. Insurance is activated once your membership is approved. Keep your contact email current so you receive these documents promptly.

5.7 Trainee Members with the Master Trainee Insurance Policy

There are some limitations to the Trainee insurance policy in terms of teaching classes:

  • You can teach a maximum of 2 classes per week.
  • You can teach up to 2 hours per week, and the 2 hours can be split in any way, e.g. teach two one-hour classes or one, one and half hour class.
  • You must have their Lead Teacher (SYT) permission before starting to teach and keep in regular contact with them regarding the class structure and feedback.
  • You must make all students aware that they are a trainee teacher and are not fully qualified.
  • You may charge students a fee to attend a class, but this should be less than what a fully qualified teacher would charge.

6. Teacher Training Courses

6.1 Application and Documentation

To run accredited teacher training courses, you must submit a detailed application and documentation of your courses. You must be available by phone to discuss your application. Provide all requested documentation (including course manuals) within 14 days of payment. We will review and usually respond within 7 days. If corrections are needed to meet our standards, you will have 7 days to revise. Failure to provide required documentation or payment will result in application cancellation. The £249 application fee is non-refundable.

If you fail to submit the required application documentation or make any necessary changes to your documents within the specified timeframe, your application will be cancelled, and no refund will be provided.

If you wish to resubmit your application in the future, you will need to pay the application fee again.

We may request updated documentation at any time during your membership to ensure compliance with our policies. Note that we provide sample documentation as guidance, but you should seek your own legal/business advice; do not rely solely on our materials. You are responsible for ensuring that your courses comply with the laws of your country.

6.2 Accreditation Process

Once approved, you are responsible for adding your course syllabus to your brand profile. Once this is approved, you will be able to add course dates.

You must list your syllabus on your profile for approval. Once approved you must add your course dates so they are added to the list of training courses.

6.3 Accreditation Responsibilities

All teachers running teacher training courses must fulfil specific criteria to maintain their accredited status:

  • Provide all required documents and ensure they meet our specific requirements.
  • Display your Yoga Pros training course accreditation badge (with a backlink to the relevant page) on your website, next to the course/s which are accredited.
  • All courses must have a pass/fail assessment process with steps in place for students who fail to reach an appropriate level and be able to be reassessed.
  • If a student fails, the Lead Teacher must supply sufficient and reasonable support to allow the student to be re-assessed at a later date, not more than one year after the initial assessment.
  • Encourage graduates to review your course on the Yoga Pros website.
  • Share trainee and graduate details with Yoga Pros as specified below in point 6.3.1.

6.3.1 Trainee and Graduate Details

Those running Foundation Teacher Training Courses, must report trainee and graduate information as follows:

  • Agree to share your Trainee and Graduates’ details with Yoga Pros.
  • Include in your Terms and Conditions that you will pass on your trainee and graduate details to Yoga Pros and why you are doing so. We suggest that you include the following text:

"As a student of your training course, I consent to …………  passing my contact details (name, email and phone number) onto your partners, Yoga Pros. I allow them to contact me directly and invite me to register as both a trainee and a teacher. I understand that I have the option to opt out of this registration process. ………..  is/are satisfied that Yoga Pros have appropriate and adequate technical and organisational measures to protect the security of your data. They will never share your data with anybody else".

  • Provide or show your students any Yoga Pros marketing materials during the course and actively encourage them to join Yoga Pros.
  • Seven days before the start of a course, provide a list of trainee yoga teachers (trainees) to Yoga Pros. We require a full name, email address and telephone number for all trainees*.
  • Within 7 days of the end date of any course, provide a list of graduating trainees (graduates) to Yoga Pros. We require a full name, email address and telephone number for all graduates*.
  • If trainees have not yet graduated after 7 days, update us with their status accordingly.
  • This information enables us to manage transitions from Trainee to Teacher members and maintain accurate records.

*Yoga Pros may contact trainees and graduates once we have confirmation of successful course completion. We will gather data on whether they recommend the course, the teacher and ask for feedback.

6.4 Course Requirements

All accredited courses must comply with Yoga Pros guidelines on contact hours, prerequisites, and staffing. For example, each 200-hour course must have a SYT level teacher, and 180 contact hours.

Your membership requires continuous adherence to these requirements.

All teacher training courses must adhere to the following criteria:

  • You confirm that ALL contact hours are face-to-face. You can run courses online; however, the hours must be live. Pre-recorded courses are not permitted.
  • You must conduct all contact hours in a dedicated environment that is not open to the public.
  • All courses must meet the minimum contact hours. If you want to change the course contact hours, contact the team.
  • You must not alter any course content details without prior notice to Yoga Pros, including assessment criteria.
  • We recommend that all students accepted onto a Foundation Teacher Training Course have been practising yoga for a minimum of 2 years before being accepted onto the course.
  • Graduates from Specialist Training Courses have two membership options. They can apply as a yoga teacher (provided their yoga teacher training meets our standards) or as a Specialist Yoga Teacher member.

Amending Course Syllabus: All accredited courses must have a Yoga Pros teacher as the Lead Teacher, at SYT (EYT for development training) designation at all times. The Lead Teacher can only be changed with prior written notification to us.

The Lead Teacher must teach at least 70% of the course contact hours at all times. If you need to change any other aspects of your syllabus, this will need to be approved.

Significant changes to the syllabus will incur a cost for re-approval.

6.5 Refunds and Downgrades

There is no renewal fee for Course Accreditation Approval. There is a one-time payment to approve each syllabus. Your syllabi will remain on our platform for the duration of your Professional Teacher and Brand Memberships. If you cancel either of these memberships, you will lose your Course Accreditation.

If you cancel your memberships and wish to restart them at a later date. In that case, you will be subject to the current membership pricing, and you will be required to resubmit your syllabi for the approval process again (including repaying the fee for this).

Cancellation: The course accreditation fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. There is no cooling-off period offered for this product, as the fee is used to carry out rigorous checks on your syllabi and course documentation.

6.6 Suspension or Termination of Course Accreditation

We reserve the right to check Trainer websites for compliance with all requirements (including trainee reports). If we identify any issues, we will notify you and allow a reasonable amount of time (e.g., 30 days) for corrections.

If you fail to comply, we may suspend and then cancel your course accreditation. Actions that could lead to suspension include (not exhaustive): You are not fully compliant with our agreed requirements;

  • You do not respond to emails or phone calls for longer than one month.
  • You do not renew your SYT membership.
  • You are not compliant with sending trainee or graduate details within the required time frames.
  • You fail to add course dates to our website.
  • There are ongoing or frequent complaints from students on the course/s.
  • You make either defamatory comments or slanderous remarks about Yoga Pros, both verbally or written within the public domain.
  • You act aggressively towards a member of the Yoga Pros team.

If we suspend your course accreditation, we will give you 30 days to correct the issue. Failure to respond will result in cancellation.

If course accreditation is cancelled or you end your brand membership for any reason, Yoga Pros is not obligated to notify trainees of the change, and we may not be able to offer membership to your graduates.

If you falsified any application information, we reserve the right to cancel without refund.

6.7 Displaying Accreditation Stamps

All courses which we accredit will be eligible for an accreditation stamp.

You should place the stamp on your website next to the course which is accredited. The stamp must only be used next to courses that are accredited; do not place the stamp next to courses that are not accredited.

The use of accreditation stamps is a privilege of membership and is reserved for active members only.

7. Private Message Board and Leads

Our website includes a private message board and lead service. Users (including non-members) may contact our members through these services. When a non-member uses these services, they create an account so that our members can view their details and respond via the platform.

We will not share any user's personal information with third parties. We may contact you about other Yoga Pros services that interest you.

Members may receive direct messages or leads from the public unless they opt out. You will be notified via email when someone contacts you.

7.1 Cover Classes

Standard and Professional Yoga Teachers can use the cover class feature to request class cover. Only Professional Yoga Teacher members are eligible to receive cover class requests.

To receive notifications about cover classes, you must have this option enabled on your profile.

We will not be held responsible for any issues regarding the class cover feature, which includes, but is not limited to, missing messages, the person not showing up, or problems with the quality of the teacher.

Members are responsible for ensuring their contact details are correct and that they have accurately input their teaching location on their profile.

8. Insurance (UK and Ireland Teachers Only)

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yoga Pros and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your access to or use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

In any case, our liability to you for any cause of action will be limited to the amount you paid, if any, to access the Service (e.g., membership fees) during the 12 months before the claim.

In addition, we will not be held liable if damages arise from the use or misuse of www.theyogapros.com or the Service, from an inability to use www.theyogapros.com or the Service, or the interruption, suspension, modification, alteration, or termination of www.theyogapros.com or the Service.
